Community Energy Projects for Sandy Point

Recently, both our federal and state governments announced potential grant funding rounds. The Sandy Point Community Group has submitted applications in both after a small a group of enthusiastic proponents had been investigating the idea of a CORE (Community Owned Renewable Energy) project for Sandy Point. Over a 12-month period the Group gathered relevant information to potential projects, attended workshops, and participated in on-line info sessions to collect needed data.

Ram-Raid occurred at Welshpool

A Ram-Raid occurred at Welshpool at the business of Welshpool Outdoors Power Equipment and LPG Gas Supplies yesterday on July 3rd, 2020.

The owners say that the repairs will take a couple of weeks so customers should enter the building through the side gate entrance.

Video caught a white ute in the image which was later abandoned down the road. Police are looking for suspects.

Another sign of our rural area needing more police stationed locally.

Venus Bay Precinct Plan Adopted

At its meeting on Wednesday, South Gippsland Shire Council adopted the Venus Bay Tourism Precinct Plan. 

The Precinct Plan was developed following a Council decision in February 2018 to prepare a plan to consider current and emerging issues related to the Venus Bay town centre in response to population and visitor growth.

closed during the lockdown. The difficulty Trulli is facing is a little different than most other businesses in that the operation

employs nine full-time jobs, all of which are here on Visas not eligible for JobKeeper or Seeker support.

How Two Towns are Coping with Covid19

Loch. Like just about everyone in South Gippsland, the people of Loch are adapting to these strange times. Others, like tradies, truck drivers and nurses, are working as usual. But the town is quiet, with people observing the guidelines to stay home as much as possible. Some who have a second home in or around Loch have moved here just because it is a nice, safe place to be.

Gold Loot Uncovered at Dollar

Gold Bars Located in Dollar.

One of our roaming reporters just phoned to say the police arrested a Fitzroy man in connection with a $3.9 Million dollar Gold heist from a Melbourne Gold Company. The heist occurred last Monday and after raiding several properties in Melbourne and Gippsland a large hoard of Gold was unearthed at Dollar, South Gippsland.
