Last year I attended the SGWater roadshow to convince us a 9% rate increase was warranted. The community engagement did not indicate this once approachable organisation was headed down the corporate empire building path.
Last year staff numbers grew from 107 effective full time to 116 eft, an almost 9% increase in just one year.
Now a newly created position is advertised for a Manager Customer Experience, ($130k pa plus super) within the expanding People and Culture department. The Manager Customer Experience role is apparently to improve the customer satisfaction survey results.
Were SGWater a private company they would be subject to commercial considerations, but it is a monopoly run by a state government appointed board, the Board and CEO should stick to service delivery and forget expanding their bureaucracy.
