Work is progressing well on the Mirboo North pool redevelopment. Whilst the buildings have been progressing well and are looking close to finish stage, the winter saw a big hole, lots of heaps of clay and dirt and now the pool walls are rising from the ground ready to have the pool structure built. Much of the piles of dirt will of course be put back around the pool once it is constructed. Should be an awesome site in a few months time.
At last week’s Council meeting, Council approved a development plan overlay for land at 35 Warragul Road in the Residential Growth Area (North West Korumburra) (DPO8) provisions of the South Gippsland Planning Scheme. The DPO8 was applied at the same time that 3.83 ha of the land was rezoned to General Residential Zone (GRZ) by Amendment C96.

Early one morning not long ago, I visited our local Tarwin Lower IGA store to buy some essentials for home. Wandering in, my ears excitedly pricked up as I happened to overhear a lovely couple, seemingly in their late twenties, talking amongst themselves in my native tongue. German tourists, I immediately presumed.
At its Meeting last week South Gippsland Shire Council committed to construct Atherton Drive, Venus Bay from the existing seal to Spring Street if it receives grant funding from the Federal Government.
Council passed the motion to submit the Council Submission on the Sera Sand Project at Nyora.
Major Pier Upgrades To Create Jobs And Boost Economy
A construction blitz on piers and jetties around the state will create vital new jobs as the state rebuilds from the coronavirus pandemic and provide a long term boost the fishing, aquaculture and tourism industries.
Minister for Ports and Freight Melissa Horne today announced a $24 million investment from the Victorian Government’s Better Piers and Waterside Facilities program.
The loading area of Port Welshpool’s Marginal Wharf will also be rebuilt in a boost for the local fishing industry, and there will be safety upgrades and repairs at Rye Pier, Tooradin Jetty and Portland Bay Trawler Wharf.
