If you allow yourself the time to stroll along the shopping strip, the delicious, teasing scent of award winning Little Rebel roasted coffee will lead you straight to the popular ‘The Bird & The Wolf’ coffee shop.
Upon entering the tastefully decorated café, a delicious waft of cuisine will excite your taste buds, while the background music creates the tone of a happy, uplifting ambiance. Friendly, beaming faces will warmly greet you from behind funky masks, ready to efficiently take your order. Your choice is broad.
The licensed Bird & The Wolf café is well known and loved in the region since it opened its doors at Easter 2019. The proprietor is the dynamic Ennis family, who utilises its collective, passionate catering and business flare to manage its meticulous trade. Sammy explained, “The business opportunity arose, and we impulsively pounced. It just felt right, and we decided to have a crack.”
Sammy grew up in Venus Bay and met the lovely Natasha from Drouin in his twenties. Together they have already achieved many, varied goals through combined focus, determination, and plain, old hard work.
A few months into their new business venture, exciting news spread throughout town Natasha had fallen pregnant. It was June of this year, Sammy and Tash became a family after welcoming their first child, little Felix, into the world. Tash claims, “It’s been an amazing, wonderful time for us all.”
The couple and their competent staff are a down to earth, fun-loving, diligent bunch and a pleasure to know. The proof is daily in the pudding by their many loyal, regular, customers. Mouth-watering, home-made full breakfasts and lunch menus are available, plus amazing sweets, cakes, or slices, constantly transpiring from the oven; hot, steaming, and ready to devour.
Covid-19 threw an undesirable spanner in the works for a couple of months however, much to the community’s delight, The Bird & The Wolf eventually opened up for take away meals and beverages. As regional Victoria is now in stage 3, this popular venue is once again open, adhering to covid-19 restrictions. An inviting outside area creates a pleasurable atmosphere for an enjoyable and appetizing experience.
Opening hours are Monday – Friday 7.30-3pm, Saturday & Sunday 8-3pm.
