Council met with the Mirboo North Pool Committee this week and discussed the opening date for the pool which was initially set for mid-Feb, 2021. The three photographs here show that the pool is a fair way off being ready for an opening. Piles of soil, gravel heaps and workers starting to tile the pool walls and base. The building is much closer to completion and as this image shows, should look quite stunning when completed. Best estimates from Council are they don’t know when the pool will be open. The normal end of season for the pool is around week two in March. Perhaps the opening will sneak in just before the season closes. With the uncertainty around an opening date and the short time period before the season would close might it not be better to schedule the opening for the first day of the next season at the end of this year. Allowing everyone to plan for what should be a grand historic event.
