Community Grants Awarded
The first round of OSMI’s pre-development grants has been awarded. The total funding available in 2020 is $10,000 and this amount will be available each year during the planning and development stages of the project.
The Delburn Wind Farm Community Development Fund of $150,000 each year will be activated after construction begins should the project receive planning approval.
The recipients for 2020 are:
Yinnar Community Garden to develop an online educational and multi-media tool covering sustainable gardening practices
Mirboo North Community Energy Hub to conduct free or subsidised energy efficiency audits of homes and small businesses within the region
Yinnar-Yinnar South Landcare Group to purchase indigenous seed collection equipment
Boolarra Folk Festival – Healing Tent to enable the tradition of the Healing Tent to continue when the Folk Festival goes virtual in 2021
Morwell Football Netball Club to contribute towards the upgrade of club kitchen facilities
OSMI say they look forward to working with these community groups and are proud to support such wonderful community initiatives.
OSMI thanks everyone who applied – over $50,000 worth of funding was sought from community groups located all around the project site. Whilst not able to support everyone in 2020 they encourage all applicants to keep in touch and look forward to building strong relationships with the community as our project progresses.
