A Welcomed Family Legacy.

It’s been over five years since the Schreurs uprooted themselves and their successful vegetable farm from the outskirts of Melbourne to Middle Tarwin, converting over 1000 acres of lush, former dairy and cattle land. The soil, climate and access to water sealed the deal. “We managed to find a location with a lot of water and a lot of water catchment area,” Adam Schreur explained.

Schreurs and Sons is a third-generation farming business, 100% Australian owned and operated. Adam and his cousin, Chris, specialise in celery, leak, and baby leaf lines, including spinach, leek, and snow pea tendrils.

This thriving business venture was born over fifty years ago when Adam’s grandfather began planting vegetables on a small rental block in Dingley. The rest is history filled with industrious labour, business flare, integrity, and common sense.

Together with a team of loyal, hardworking staff, the Schreurs take great pride in their high-quality produce and are one of the largest suppliers of celery both nationally and internationally.

The community is delighted to call Adam and his family one of their own. Not only has the Schreurs’ successful business created a significant impact on our rural vicinity, but also on a personal level.

Although extremely busy, Adam is one of the founders of Tarwin District Auto & Machinery Club. This entails monthly meetings and regular social outings (around corona restrictions).

Adam’s wife, Donna, is often seen around the traps working casually, while Abby, their sixteen-year-old daughter, efficiently serves us around school hours in Tarwin Lower’s popular coffee shop.

The Schreurs are lovely, unpretentious, practical, kind folk and are well loved and respected by all who know them. They are without doubt, a pleasurable asset to our country paradise.
