A Hidden Treasure.

Centrally located and nestled among Tarwin Lower’s miscellaneous shops along the stately Tarwin River, is a somewhat camouflaged jewel.

Just under four years ago a group of talented locals with a dream, united and together bore new life into a derelict, disused building, transforming the interior into a stunning, contemporary studio gallery. Its name ‘Thirsty Work’ derives from the word Tarwin, which is an Aboriginal name loosely translating as Thirsty.

A warm, dynamic ambiance has since filled this spacious, privately rented area by imaginative artists and artisans, mindfully showcasing their incredible and expressive work.

Unique pieces are available to admire and purchase, such as a range of beautifully handmade gifts and cards, intricately handcrafted furniture, sculptures, and treasures. Impressive paintings prints and photographs, inimitable jewellery and glass items, handwoven mohair wool scarves and more are exhibited, all blended with passion and inspiration.

This not for profit, well-curated gallery is purposely, proudly stocked and managed by talented locals from nearby surrounding areas only.

‘A handful of innovate souls, who passionately realised their dream for all to enjoy.’

Now that covid-19 restrictions have eased somewhat, opening hours are 10-4pm every Saturday and Sunday. However, it is appreciated you adhere to hand sanitizing (readily available upon entering), mask wearing and social distancing.

An exceptional gallery definitely worthwhile visiting.
