Not the usual car sale by the side of the road.

Driving back from Morwell and nearly at Mirboo North I came upon this interesting vehicle by the roadside. I stopped to have a look.

Turned out it is a Japanese Fire Truck and it looked in pretty good nick. I took some photos and contacted Ray Argento, known for his love of collecting fire Engines. Alas for the seller, it was not Ray’s style. So, it is still available.

The truck has a functioning water pump, no rust, and sirens are operational as are lights and flashing bits. It comes registered and can be used to protect your property in the next fire season.

Would also be a good promotional vehicle for a business.

The vehicle was imported 5 years ago, and the seller informs me that there are only 3 or 4 of these in Australia. Due to the tough Japanese laws and car import regulations in Australia the vehicle has been engineered and registered to be compliant in Australia.

Talking with the seller, turns out he has a link to the Toora collector one could not have imagined. As a kid, Cameron attended the Hallston school with Ray Argento and on the day of the famous kidnapping when Ray was taken for a ride with a terrorist, Cameron had wagged school and so missed out on all the fun.

Cameron worked in the army before changing to the film industry where he worked as a theatrical armourer. Things have slowed down of late due to covid but as we spoke, Cameron was on the way to some part-time work.

Anyone interested is asked to contact Cameron on 041911913. It has only driven 63,000km
