Russia Announces Vaccine Roll-Out
President Vladimir V. Putin announced on Tuesday that a vaccine has been approved to be used against the coronavirus. The approval for its “use” which is listed as no earlier than 1 Jan 2021 is shown here but don’t bother checking this source-it’s in Russian.
The “vaccine” is an Adeno based Non-Replicating Viral Vector from the Gamaleya Research Institute manufactured by Binnopharm in Zelenograd. This type of “vaccine” uses an adenovirus5 to shuttle in the gene for the surface protein of that virus. This technique was tried in 2007 on a different health issue and it was stopped after discovering that it increased the likelihood of the virus transmission.
The Russian “vaccine” is listed on the WHO databases as being in Phase I. Phase II and Phase III involve testing the “vaccine” on animals and people in small numbers (Phase II) and in Phase III around 30,000 people for example. Importantly, in the Phase III trials, at least the 6 candidate vaccines currently in Phase III, the trial must run for something like 9 months to a year at least to enable the assurance that the vaccine works and people don’t get harmed from side-affects.
By effectively by-passing the Phase II and III parts of the trial the Russian program is effectively ditching science and going for the hope this works approach.
More information on how the trials are conducted can be found in our earlier article along with the full list of WHO candidate vaccines in trial along with a description of the 6 that are currently in Phase III trials.
The 6 candidate vaccines currently in trials have completion dates between April 2021 and November 2021.
If you are offered a Russian Vaccine over the internet or from anywhere else, it might be best to abstain.
