Korumburra Expects Good Vibes to Return
Korumburra is a resilient community with so much positivity during such a difficult and challenging time. While it’s unfortunate that some businesses have shut down, there are also businesses that are thriving. The Industrial Estate has been largely unaffected and, apart from exercising social distancing and sanitising, it is business as usual for most. We have had some wonderful partnerships formed between businesses who are providing and delivering produce to the door. The initiative and creativity that our businesses have shown has been inspiring and they are to be congratulated. The Korumburra Business Association has continued to be active throughout this crisis, collating and forwarding our members’ information on the financial assistance available at all levels of government. We understand it was an overwhelming time for many businesses at the beginning, and still is for some, so we were there offering our support and inviting them to contact us if they felt the need.
We are continually active on social media to inform the wider community about what businesses are offering and how consumers can continue to obtain their favourite supplies through these changed trading times. It has never been more important to shop locally and support a community that is rich with its own produce. One of the positives to come from this crisis is the awareness of the fresh produce available in this area, and the opportunity it has given businesses to explore different ways of doing business. The Korumburra Business Association prides itself on developing partnerships with all organisations that benefit the Korumburra business community and the community in general. This in turn grows a healthy community. Advertising we are ‘open for business’ is the main message that South Gippsland needs to get out once restrictions are lifted. We will be doing all we can to make sure it is known that Korumburra is open for business. Korumburra is in an extremely fortunate position with the Korumburra Revitalisation Project coming to fruition, assisting in keeping the economy in South Gippsland going whilst giving our town a real boost. We are looking forward to seeing our main street busy again with the good vibes that were in Korumburra prior to Covid-19. It is sad seeing how quiet our street is. But knowing this is what it is like everywhere makes it easier to accept.
